Demi Lovato is “proud” to be bipolar.

The 25-year-old singer is glad she is able to speak about her mood disorder and use her voice to help others.

She said: “I’m not sick of it. If anything, I’m proud to be bipolar and speak about it. Bipolar is a mood disorder.

“I deal with mood swings, I deal with episodes of mania, and bipolar-depression phases as well. But I’ve used my voice to help others, and I feel proud that I’ve been able to do that.”

And the ‘Cool for the Summer’ hitmaker has been open about her battle with addiction, her eating disorder and mental health issues in the past but she is working hard to not let her previous addiction affect her life too much.

Demi Lovato won’t stop “being honest”.

The 24-year-old singer is known for speaking up about her past battles with substance abuse and eating disorders, as well her current battle with bipolar disorder, and although she admits she can sometimes be “nervous” when it comes to talking about her past, she knows it’s important to be truthful.

Speaking in a trailer for her upcoming YouTube documentary ‘Simply Complicated’ she said: “One thing I’ll never stop doing is being honest. I was not easy to work with. I’m coming up on five and a half years of sobriety. I’m on a journey to discover what it’s like to be free of all demons.”

It isn’t the first time the ‘Sorry Not Sorry’ hitmaker has spoken about the importance of honesty either, as she previously said having a “brutally honest family” helped her “stay grounded” when she was growing up in the spotlight.

Demi Lovato hasn’t ruled out getting back with Wilmer Valderrama in the future.

The ‘Confident’ singer split from the 37-year-old actor last year after six years together and though they remain friends, she admits things could turn romantic again one day.

Asked if they could ever get back together, she said: “You never know what’s going to happen. I don’t know what’s going to happen.”

But for now, the 35-year-old star – who briefly dated MMA fighter Guilherme ‘Bomba’ Vasconcelos after splitting from Wilmer – is happy to be focusing on knowing her own mind and appreciating who she really is.

Discussing whether she’s found herself yet, she told ‘Entertainment Tonight’: “Yeah, I think I found her, and I think I’m still finding her.

“And that’s why I’m not diving into anything with anyone. I value my time by myself now, and I value my time with my friends. And I just have learned to really appreciate my me time and getting to know myself and learning to fall in love with myself before I fall in love with anyone else.”

The ‘Cool for the Summer’ hitmaker has remained tight lipped about her sexuality until now and has revealed she isn’t worried about the gender of the person she has a romance with.

In the ‘Demi Lovato: Simply Complicated’ documentary, she admitted she is “open to human connection” on dating apps and says she has “always felt” open to dating both men and women.

It comes after Demi insisted she “loves who she loves” and that her sexuality is “irrelevant”.

She said recently: “I just feel like everyone’s always looking for a headline and they always want to be the one to break what my sexuality is. I feel like it’s irrelevant to what my music is all about. I stand up for the things that I believe in and the things that I’m passionate about, but I like to keep my personal life as private as possible when it comes to dating and sexuality and all that stuff just because it has nothing to do with my music.

Demi Lovato is “so happy” for her ex-boyfriend Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner following their engagement.

The ‘Sorry Not Sorry’ hitmaker briefly dated the 28-year-old singer in 2010 but there is clearly no bad blood between them as she jumped to congratulate the hunk when he announced on Instagram he’d popped the question to the ‘Game of Thrones’ actress after less than a year of dating.

Writing in the comments section of Joe’s Instagram post, the 25-year-old brunette beauty wrote: “HUGE CONGRATS. Sooooo happy for the both of you! (sic).”

She then liked the picture, which shows Sophie’s sparkly jewel sitting perfectly on her ring finger as she balanced her hand on Joe’s, before following the ‘X-Men: Apocalypse’ star on her social networking sites.

Joe and Sophie – who have been dating since November – were first spotted getting close at a concert in the Netherlands earlier this year and have been inseparable ever since.

Sophie had previously admitted dating Joe can be “frustrating” because of the public scrutiny about their love life.

She explained: “You do feel like you’re living in a fishbowl. It’s frustrating [that] it’s the most mundane things that make the news – how boring!”

Demi Lovato admits it is a constant “challenge” to stay sober.

The 25-year-old pop star went to rehab back in 2010 to seek treatment for a dependence on alcohol and drugs, and get therapy for an eating disorder and self-harming.

Demi has managed to stay clean ever since but she admits her recovery still requires her to be vigilant everyday and she shares the difficulties about her teetotal lifestyle in her new YouTube documentary series ‘Simply Complicated’.

In an interview with Billboard.com discussing the YouTube series, she said: “I think what was difficult about the process was being honest about where I am in my life today. Telling the world that I’m not the poster child for recovery. Sometimes it is a struggle, and sometimes I still deal with issues that I have suffered from in the past. It’s a challenge to maintain recovery, and I talk about that in the film. So, for me, it’s like kind of admitting that I’m not … Obviously I’m not perfect, but admitting that on camera. I want to be the best role model that I can be for my fans, so by admitting that I’m not perfect, it’s kind of weird for me.”

However, the 25-year-old star admitted she would apologise for getting embroiled in Twitter feuds, though she didn’t name who with.

Demi Lovato and Idina Menzel are being sued by a musician who claims ‘Frozen’ tune ‘Let It Go’ was inspired by one of his songs.

Jaime Ciero has reportedly filed a lawsuit against Disney, Demi, who recorded the single, Idina, who sang the song in her vocal role as Queen Elsa in the 2013 movie, and others, according to TMZ.

He has claimed ‘Let It Go’ has striking similarities to his song ‘Volar’, which was recorded in 2008, in terms of hooks, melodies, note combinations, production, lyrics, textures and themes.

Jaime describes the tune as “a huge international success reaching millions of listeners and landing on numerous charts of the most popular, top-performing songs”.

Idina starred as Elsa in the Disney motion picture alongside the likes of Kristen Bell, Jonathan Groff, and Josh Gad, who all lent their voices to major characters in the film.

The movie was hugely popular, raking in $1.219 billion worldwide and becoming the fifth-highest grossing movie of all time in May 2014.

While Idina sang the song on the film, Disney asked Demi to perform the tune for the single.

Demi Lovato had suicidal thoughts when she was just seven.

The 25-year-old singer/songwriter has battled various mental health issues during her life – including bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, depression, and anxiety – during her life, and has admitted she first felt suicidal during her youth.

In an interview with Dr. Phil, Demi explained: “The very first time I was suicidal was when I was seven. I had this fascination with death.

“I have experienced things that I have not talked about, and I don’t know if I ever will talk about. But at seven, I knew that if I were to take my own life, that the pain would end.”

Demi revealed that her suicidal thoughts were triggered by bullying.

And since then, she has experienced similarly dark thoughts as a result of emotional turmoil and trauma.

The ‘Sorry Not Sorry’ hitmaker said: “It came back several times – when I was struggling with depression, my bipolar disorder. And there was a while there when my mom was afraid to wake me up in the mornings because she didn’t know if she opened the door if I would be alive or not. Because every time I cut, it got deeper and deeper.”

Wilmer Valderrama has praised his former girlfriend Demi Lovato as a “hero”.

The ‘NCIS’ showed his support for his 25-year-old ex after she performed her song ‘Skyscraper’ at a March For Our Lives rally in Washington DC over the weekend.

He told Entertainment Tonight: “She’s a hero. She’s a hero to young men and women out there. I think that she’s literally the image of recovery and getting their life together, so I’m excited that she’s there and for this historic moment for young people too.”

And Wilmer, 38, praised his fellow Hollywood stars for getting involved in the student-led demonstrations, which were set up after 17 deaths in a school shooting in Parkland, Florida, last month.

He said: “They used to tell us when we were young and entering the industry, ‘Oh you’re an actor, don’t get involved in politics.’

“But then you see that politics affect policy and policy affects humankind. It’s really interesting as citizens, as people in general, that you actually get involved. So I think that’s why it’s exciting to see that so many people are lending their voices, but most importantly, their platform for other people’s voices, because we gotta just be amplifying the people’s word and the people’s spirit.”

Demi Lovato has been forced to reschedule the South American and Mexican leg of her Tell Me You Love Me tour.

The ‘Cool for the Summer’ hitmaker was due to perform these shows this month but has been forced to move them to September and November because of “production issues”. Three shows – in Ecuador, Costa Rica and Panama – have been removed completely and will not be rescheduled.

Taking to Twitter to share the news, she wrote: “I’m absolutely heartbroken that I have to make this announcement today… due to production issues we have to move the South America #tellmeyoulovemetour dates …

“Ecuador, Costa Rica, and Panama I’m devastated we had to remove those shows … Truly hate that we have to do this & we tried our best but there were some unforeseen production issues.

Demi Lovato earned more than $20 million during the opening leg of her Tell Me You Love Me World Tour.

The 25-year-old singer pocketed an eye-watering sum of money after performing at concerts set in 20 cities in North America in support of her ‘Tell Me You Love Me’ album, which was released last year.

Demi performed for more than 262,000 fans during the course of the opening leg of her tour, according to Billboard, which also revealed that her most profitable show came at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York, where she earned $1.5 million in revenue.

However, Demi drew her largest crowd at the Capital One Arena in Washington, where she sold 16,141 tickets.

The brunette beauty was supported at the shows by DJ Khaled and Kehlani, who served as her opening acts.

Meanwhile, Demi was recently forced to reschedule the South American and Mexican leg of her tour.

The ‘Cool for the Summer’ hitmaker’s mother Dianna De La Garza was devastated when her daughter decided to end her relationship with the ‘That ’70s Show’ actor but is “thankful” that the pair still remain friends and see each other from time to time.

She said: “He was just so gracious and caring, and he still is to this day.

I believe he loves her, and she loves him. I think Demi came to a point where she wanted to make some decisions in her life, and when that happened, it just really broke us all. I mean we were just so upset.

“It was her life and I had to let her decide things for herself … I’m thankful that even after everything, we still see him occasionally. We don’t see him that often but when we do, it’s just like nothing ever changed. You know, he’s just that kind of person.”
